Dr. Curkova, a Board-Certified Dermatologist and Venereologist with the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), brings extensive expertise to our practice.

Passionate about advancing patient care, she provides innovative, evidence-based solutions for a wide range of skin concerns. Dr. Curkova emphasizes patient-centered care, ensuring individuals feel understood and confident in their treatment. Fluent in four languages, she credits her English proficiency to a high school exchange program in the U.S.

Dr. Curkova earned her MD from Comenius University, where she also completed her Dermatology and Venereology residency and PhD research on psoriasis and its comorbidities. As a clinical investigator for Pfizer and Novartis, she contributed to advancements in treatments for chronic plaque psoriasis. She further honed her skills as a Fellow at the Medical Cosmetic Institute of Aesthetic Dermatology and Laser Surgery.

Her professional development includes EADV training in the EU and South Korea. She has been an invited speaker in the U.S., Turkey, and across Europe and has received prestigious honors, including the Michael Hornstein Memorial Scholarship, AAD International Scholarship, and EADV Honorary Bronze Pin for Excellence in 2018.

He is responsible for shaping and implementing the strategic vision of our practice. John works diligently to ensure that our dermatology office remains at the forefront of advancements in patient care, technology, and medical innovation.

Board Certified Dermatologist

Dr. Erin Maguire is a Board-Certified Dermatologist with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada.

She earned a BSc (Honors) in Psychology and an MD from Dalhousie University. She completed her residency in Dermatology in Halifax, qualifying in 2022. After qualifying, she co-founded Maritime Dermatology with Dr. Natalie Cunningham in Halifax where she now makes her home. She sees adult and pediatric dermatology patients and is a member of the Canadian Dermatology Association and American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Maguire is passionate about sun safety and serves as a member of the Sun Awareness Working Group at the Canadian Dermatology Association.

Dr. Maguire is a Bermudian and looking forward to returning home to Bermuda to provide locus care in dermatology.

Practice Manager | Medical Assistant

Alex joined our team in March 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in practice management and medical assisting. She has previous experience in assisting with a plastic surgery and dental office.

Her experience in healthcare management brings a dynamic and organized approach to our practice. She oversees the day-to-day operations, working to create a patient-centric environment that prioritizes your comfort and satisfaction.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical and Health Science from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. She also has a Certificate of Physicians Practice Management (CPPM).

Alex is here to support you at every stage of your journey with Skin Care Physicians. Whether you have questions about appointments, billing inquiries, or any other clinical aspect of your visit, she is here to ensure that your experience is smooth and stress-free.

Front Desk Coordinator

As the welcoming presence at the heart of our practice, Christine plays a crucial role in ensuring your experience with us begins on a positive note. She is a vital part of our team, bringing a warm, welcoming demeanor to our front desk. She has been with us since September 2023 coming over from a wellness and fitness setting.

Christine has been increasing her knowledge of dermatology and medical receptionist work with courses to help with her role from scheduling appointments to answering inquiries from patients.

As your advocate at the front desk, Christine is here to address any concerns or questions you may have. Need directions to our office? Wondering about the status of an appointment? She is able to assist and ensure you feel supported at every step.
